Alexander I was born in 1777 in St. Petersburg. Alexander I was the eldest son of the Grand Duke Paul Petrovich who was later Emperor Paul. Paul's mother, Catherine the Great didn't her son. She thought he wasn't capable of ruling the country, so when her grandson (Alexander) was born, she was him as her inheritor and took care of his education. He was the first Russian King of Poland from 1815 to 1825 and the first Russian Grand Duke of Finland. Alexander rose to power when his father was murdered. Alexander had a mysterious death. Apparently he died in 1825 but when the Soviet government opened his coffin in the 1920's they found it empty.
