-ACCIOMPLISHMENTS -POLICIES -LEGACY -FUN FACTS |
Ivan IV was in reigning power from 1530 till 1584. Sadly Ivan died in 1584. When Ivan was in power Russia was very dark, had many hardships, and started a controlled government under Ivan IV. This being because Ivan was always a violent man with a short temper, so not only did Ivan not have that many loyal and loving people under him, but many people even called him Ivan the Terrible. So with this being trade between other strong political people and deals, etc. did not go very well because he would always snap on people. He assumed control over Russia just by being crowned, now let me remind you that Ivan was also the first czar of Russia. Ivan had two major policies. Those two being a Domestic policy and Foreign policy. These are usually the standard policies that czars place on Russia in the reigning time. Ivan accomplished the conquest of Kazan and even the conquest of Siberia.
His legacy on the Russia was an eye opener. It showed the citizens of Russia that it is possible to have such a nasty horrid person to determine all your decisions and being you, yourself not being able to defend yourself. Russia was also left a mess after the 25 year war between Lithuania and Sweden, which might be added was his idea. Did you know that Ivan killed his own son by stabbing him in the head with a steel pointed knife. DId you know that Ivan also beat his pregnant daughter in law for not wearing modest clothes and refusing to change when he asked. Now that's what you call a short temper |
