Nicholas the first was born on July 6, 1796 and sadly died on March 2, 1885. Nicholas reigned from 1825-1855. When he was in reigning Russia was in order and never had any major issues except for the Persian war. Nicholas the first came into power after his brother Alexander the first. H was not meant to be czar because Alexander didn't have a male successor or male siblings. After Alexander his older sister was next in line to be czar, but married a non royal blood and refused the crown a long time ago. Since Alexander knew this he tried his hardest to get Nicholas to be next in line, which eventually came true. Nicholas the first accomplished many things especially overcoming territories. Some of his accomplishments are gaining control of the Caspian sea, the Persian war, and even established an exemplar hospital.
Nicholas the first left a big legacy on Russia. His legacy was almost the definition of a militarist autocracy. What is this you ask? It is government by a single person that has unlimited power. Or a country or state that is governed or controlled by a single person with unlimited power. This is because not only has Nicholas been known to Russia because of his brother Alexander the first, but he was a good leader which automatically many times makes people drawn to follow you and respect you. Did you know that Nicholas the first was named colussos because of his huge size at birth. Did you also know that he was in the army for 3 years prior to his reigning. |
